Alaska in Pictures

"I think a person could spend their entire life taking pictures in Alaska!"

That was what a friend then boyfriend replied me back in September 2010 when I commented on one of his profile picture with snow capped mountain on the background. Two years later, here I am - trying to get hold of beauty of Alaska in 10 days, with my Nikon.

'click pictures to experience Alaska'

At Susitna River or Little Su at 8PM!

However, my presence in Alaska is way too early or "late snow melt this year". Although most of the area are green, but 45% of this great land still wet and brownish in color. Plus, cloudy sky due to the smokes from the wildfire and attempts to rain at the same time - leave me with low natural sunlight for my lens to capture. I -  an amateur cum crappy photographer find this situation is very hopeless.

Hatcher Pass, Alaska

I remember my trip to South Island, New Zealand during Spring season - it was green, white and blue masked all over the landscapes, adorned with colorful bushes and flowers. Mountains and Lake in South Island New Zealand is very similar to Alaska. So I can't help it but comparing the two, back and forth through 5001 pictures I took during the visit.

Eklutna Lake

One day, I spoke to Mike about what I think of Alaska, from a view of a visitor, not a professional botanist or geologist. But then, I think I offended an Alaskan.

"I want you to see the whole year. Well, you want colors and you judge beauty by the colors. I don't judge beauty that way. I have a different definition and no place will beat Alaska to me no matter of they find gardens on Mars. I know there are beautiful places everywhere else and other people might like them better. But, to me, Alaska is the best"

Well, my bad. I shouldn't make a comparison between SUMMER in Alaska with SPRING in South Island New Zealand at the first place!

View along Alaska highway during summer

Mike became so emotional when he described Alaska to me. The way he talks about Alaska, is like, it the best place in a whole world. No matter how harsh cold winter and how much he hates it, still, Alaska is the best to him - Untouched landscapes, cold creeks and lakes, houses with vast yard, bears, moose and caribou on the streets. Low tax, Permanent Fund Dividend (Alaska oil taxes go into a permanent fund then the residents of Alaska receive as a dividend payout), and gambling is totally prohibited here, in Alaska. Surprisingly, where Muslim/Islam is an alien to this land, you won't see Magnum, Sports Toto or Lottery booth in Alaska. If any of Alaskan won the lottery outside Alaska, the entitlement become void as soon as you are holding Alaskan I/D.

Wildflowers in Alaska
Mike showed me Alaska from the lowest ground to the highest point of view (Not really, the highest is Denali's peak). With the mixture of touristy spot based on my requests and his own preferences as an Alaskan. Seems like fate favored me lately. Although I only have 10 days to see Alaska as much as I can, I have almost 20 hours everyday to do it and it feels like, I was in other space of time where day has never over until, my body tells me it's time to go to sleep.

Alaska at 10 PM night
Alaska gave you the feel like everybody is having annual leave/ holiday just like you. Although Alaskan people is a working hard type especially during summer, but it is very hard for you to see people here wearing suit and tie except at the wedding (I guess)

I don't see people here obsessed with luxury brand like Chanel or Prada. Well, you can wear it and feel like you are the most fashionable human being on earth but seriously, I don't think they paying attention at the label or at you. But they have big house, big cars and sometime I saw that have snowmobile and RV parked on every house's yard. So, I guess they can afford more than a label. Or, maybe we, are too stupid to spend so much money on little things made by leather which can't drive us to nowhere :(

As for now, Im out of sentimental sentences to describe Alaska. But I hope you can feel Alaska through my pictures. Enjoy the rest of the pictures. I will write more on Alaska!

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. Review.

I had an opportunity to a preview screening of the upcoming movie which is based on book of "The Mortal Instruments" by Cassandra Clare.

Although I was at the preview, had some fun with photobooth, goodie bag filled by NYX make up and free popcorn with coke, still, all the freebies unable to make me really good at a movie reviews. Comments & thoughts, maybe. Anyways, that is what people do as soon as they got up from the seat at the end of movie and created buzzing effect along the way to the parking lot.

 'HoYeah'

 MEH.

So, here is my thought about this movie:

GOTH.

So, that's the first word came into my mind. The costume, the make up, the background, everything - like, gothic look alike people can be heroes. And then as the story went by, I can see a mixture of 'Beautiful Creatures' with a pinch of 'Twillight', coated with 'Underworld' and 'The Matrix'. Holy cow! That girl can dodge bullets attacking devil!

and somehow, I giggled a bit towards the end of the movie. Because it reminds me of 'GhostBusters'. How about that?

But overall, it was more like 'The Beautiful Creature' where this girl do not know how powerful she is until her certain birthday. She is partly angel and partly human which makes Mom trying to hide her from the truth, but not for very long because you can't hide from destiny. So she starting to doodle a rune in her wake and sleep until she see something and someone when ordinary human can't see - Devil and devil hunter (or they called themselves as a 'shadowhunter' to make it sound more gothic)

In this episode (did I just said, episode?) The instrument is a goblet, a cup which can extend Shadowhunter's life, a holygrail that can give limitless power who posses it (oh well, they been hunting and killing for it since Indiana Jones by the way). And now Jay-Z claimed it through his album 'Magna Carta'

AND City of Bones is a place where the 'Silent Brothers' gain power from the bones of these shadowhunters - like a graveyard and you can see it like 2 minutes in this movie which makes me wonder why the title is City of Bones while the City of Bones seems like not really a highlight in this story at all. The Mortal Instruments: 'The Prize Cup' would be more appropriate, I guess. Since it was all about that cup from the beginning until the end.

Then there were vampires, warewolf, a little bit of romance, warlock and witches which reminds me of Team Jacob and Harry Potter. Team Edward has to wait because it will come up in the sequel, I guess.

I said Harry Potter because these Shadowhunters cast a spell in by writing symbol, or rune on the palm of their hand and shove it to the enemy or waving it to get things done (besides kicking devil's ass with some cool martial art and cool gadget). So, I don't know which way is easier in fighting your enemies. By mumbling  'Expecto Patronum' or 'Avada Kadavra' and wave wand OR writing some symbol on your palm and waving it out. But I know shooting a gun is always the easiest. That's why I always like Lara Croft.

and oh!! it was kind of shocking to know Gothic and Gay can really coexist in shadowhunter world. A very awkward scene in this one. And incest is almost happen in the middle of this story too. See? This isn't a bad movie after all. It has a lot of element of surprise and at the same time it gave you a deja vu - "hhmm I've seen this before.. but, where?".

As usual, 'the force be with you' - the good wins and the evil lose. They will start filming the sequel : City of Asses Ashes this year September with a 2014 release date. How about that.

Oh God. It's not like I'm ruining a good movie, but I'm ruining a good review which people used to read.

So, that is all. From my empty thoughts. Better than hate thoughts though!

Um, I told you. Im not good at movie review! 'A mundane' kata Jace.

I give this movie 3.5 out of 5. Because Lily Collins is beautiful as always.

The End.

Detox : The CHEAPEST and EASIEST way

Hi. Salam Aidilfitri. Gambar kuih raya & baju raya tak ada disini.

I know some of you masih tak habis beraya. Raya Puasa 6 kan? While everybody is still showing off their Hari Raya outfit and busy whining about their weight gain (but do nothing about it), here is a tip for you to cleanse your gut once you finished with the buruk lantak kau tu.

No need to buy all the non sense fuckery product your friends selling on Facebook. Here is the solution:

Epsom Salt. You can get it in Watson, Caring or Guardian pharmacy with only RM5.

Miracle? Nah. But the best remedy do come in cheap. (ada logo halal lagi. Walau hanya garam, maklum lah..rakyat Malaysia takut termakan makanan HARAM. Tapi perbuatan haram yang lelain, selamba je buat. Ntah ntah, duit buat beli makanan HALAL tu datang dari duit gaji yang HARAM. Kerja macam taik, tapi gaji nak je lebih)

I was a foolish before, spending on RM80 -  A 7 days Detox juice by Kinohimitsu, and totally sold out that my colon is clean as if I just born into this world.

I wanted to thank to my good hearted niece to stuff me with never ending good infos in order for me to live well.

This is how it looks like

Epsom salt has many benefit for beauty, health and cleaning your house! Ring a bell? Yea, that magic Amway cleansing drop yang sangat magic which can do almost everything. Ntah ntah diorang pakai garam ni je pastuh jual kat korang dengan harga yang sangat exclusive.

I took Epsom salt into my detox program before I start my Gluten Free Diet. And Gluten Free Diet is much more fun and tasty compared to agonizing Atkins Diet. Boo! I decided to try Gluten free diet after I stuffed myself with highly sinful meals during Ramadhan (beli kat Baazar, the usage of sugar, oil & sodium tok sah cakap lah)

So, my experience using Epsom Salt is 10/10. It flushed out from thick to almost nothing but clear water in 1 day, 30 minutes after you drink it. Good for bloated tummy (jenis kentut tak lawas tu kan), water retention and of course, constipation.

The other benefits that you can get from Epsom Salt (which is not a salty salt like you imagine. But a compound of sulfate and magnesium). Kalau boleh makan peria, Epsom Salt drinking will be your favorite, kut? But it is advisable to do this once a month.

BENEFITS OF EPSOM SALT:
1. Reduce Stress (soak in a bath tub with epsom salt)
2. Relieve Muscle Pain
3. Regulate body function
4. Prevent hardening of arteries and blood clot
5. Increase the effectiveness of insulin
6. Relieve Constipation
7. Eliminate Toxin
8. Fertilize your plant
9. Face Mask/ Facial wash
10. As a Softener for your laundry
11. As a hair volumizer (mix with your shampoo)
12. and many more.

I just took 5 teaspoon of Epsom Salt & dissolve it with a cup of warm water. Drink it with an apple in my other hands (bitter lah!) and feel it works slowly from my chest down. 30 minutes later, the toilet bowl is my best friend until I can't feel my butt hole anymore :(

Here is the decent way to use Epsom Salt (source: www.expertclinic.org)

Drink Epsom Salt for Detox

A detox remedy using Epsom salts will take two days. Before you begin your regimen, stop using any medications or supplements two days before this detox is to take place to avoid any potential negative interactions.
On the day your detox is to begin, consume a no-fat breakfast and lunch. This may include toast and honey, cooked cereal or vegetables. Do not eat anything after 2 pm. Combine four tablespoons of Epsom salts in 3 cups of water and refrigerate the mixture. Meanwhile, warm a pink grapefruit and a cup of olive oil on the counter. Around 6 pm consume ¾ cup of the Epsom salt mixture. You may add vitamin C powder to improve the taste if desired. Drink an additional ¼ cup of the Epsom salt drink at 8 pm.
Attempt to take a bowel movement before moving on to the remaining steps in the detox. Pour half the olive oil and a half cup of juice from the grapefruit into a jar and shake to combine. Drink this mixture around 10 pm while standing. After you have finished drinking take four Omithine capsules and lie down with the head elevated.
The following morning consume an additional ¾ cup of Epsom salts when you wake up, then go back to bed and rest. Two hours later consume the remaining Epsom salt mixture. Two hours after finishing the drink sip some juice. Then consume fruit half an hour later and eat light food an hour after this. During one of these small meals consume whey powder to replenish the bile salt you have lost during the detox. By dinner you may eat a normal meal. During this detox you will experience diarrhea so be prepared to address this.

So, thank to me later. I just free you from spending stupid slimming product on Facebook. Oh how I hate when they asked you to "Sila Taip 'NAK' untuk dapatkan harga istemewa"

Naharommm.
Bencilah.
