Super Short Story #01: and he tried to kill me!

I love it today. Sunday and its raining. Nothing like everyday - scorching hot and traffic jam. And I decided to lunch somewhere far from Shah Alam. So I went to Damansara Perdana to get my favorite Mee Hoon Hailam. (secret place, and I won't disclose it. hehe) I like it because it gave me a guilty free feeling after Im done with it. And Oh, I don't know how to describe this, they use this special 'Hot Stuff". I never had this fresh chili padi like what they have in here. It's some kind of fragrant chili padi? It is so crunchy and it has the most delirious fragrance of real chili padi once you bite it. Starting with tingling sensation on the tip of your tongue and the taste and its aroma travel through your nostril .. as a result, it gives you a happy tears.

Call me crazy, I'm a chili lover, and I can't eat without a tint of spicy taste.

So, I finished up a small plate of my favorite chili padi, and I want more. So, I called the waiter asking for extra hot stuff. And he came and gave me this.

Baby It's Cold Outside Pt. 2

Here is to many post about Japan to come. After 2 months, now then I think I have mood to post about it. This is the continuity of my 1st ever post made while I was still in Japan. I never blogged when Im abroad. Well, it was a good try. And Im not sure that I can ever do that anymore.

When I come to think again, my Japan trip isn't awesome AT ALL. Maybe you think Im crazy, but I think my Bangkok lonesome travelling experience waaaayyyy much more better. As a conclusion (what, I made a conclusion at 2nd paragraph of blog post?) - RUSH is a big killer of every vacation or trip. Rushing to somewhere, rushing to be at some places which was written on your paper itinerary, rushed by your travel buddy, are not awesome at all. Proverb says "TWO HEADS ARE BETTER THAN ONE". But lets stick to 2 heads, not 4, not 6, not many.

Some heades haue taken two headis better then one:
But ten heads without wit, I wene as good none.

Still, I don't blame others. It was me who can't deal with more than 2. Im an individualist. A total self centered person. It is not them who failed to agree with me, but it is me who refused to agree :)

Unless you buy a travel PACKAGE. That's a different story.

Back to Cold Osaka.

I love to take irrelevant pictures but it still telling people "it's Japan". Kimonos, Gyaru, Geisha, Yakuza, Sakura or what's so ever that made Japan, Japan, is not necessary anymore. Because everybody knows it. But still I wanted to capture something beautiful along the streets, in my own way. So, many people can't understand or stand with me. "she took gizillion pictures, she slow us down" - then go ahead. Leave me behind. I don't have problem with people leaving me behind.

We went to visit Umeda Sky Building on our 2nd day. It is me. When I going places, I will make sure that I will be on the tallest skycraper, so that I can see the whole city in a few minutes.

Don't be fool with the street's name and location. Even the Umeda Sky Building have the same name with Umeda station, it is not walk able distance between the 2. You can take a free shuttle bus provided by Osaka's Westin Hotel from Umeda train station to Umeda Sky Building. Westin hotel and Umeda Sky Building are sitting next to each other.

Made a quick stop at Pastry Shop, Condi @ Westin Osaka - for I woke up and touring sans breakfast. Crazy. I don't skip breakfast no matter how poor I am, or how late I am.

When I was in Osaka, they were celebrating a White Day - A celebration of men paying back women who have given them chocolate on Valentine's Day with usually candy instead of chocolate, with an additional later Black Day observed for those sharing singleness.

Oh! I didn't get anything from my boyfriend on White Day in Japan because I've given him nothing on Valentine's Day! No Wonder! Gggrrr. Um, he helped me with my heavy luggage through out the trip though. Thank you darling. Moral : it is important to have a strong, athletic man in your life. They will make things easier, even without much money in their pocket. LOL.

Umeda sky Building, from the ground.

173 = 173m in height.

and if you wanted to see it all, you've got to pay the max fee, 700 yen.

actually I was a bit giddy when I took this picture. But I didn't tell anyone because I don't want to appear gay. Look at the background. I bet Mike was giddy too. But he hid it so that I won't laugh at him.

Basically, we were standing at that red circle. Giddy or not!

I present you, Osaka City from Umeda Sky Building!

Umeda sky Building previously owned by Toshiba and has a Floating Garden Observatory.

You see, when you talk about Japan, it must be all futuristic and hi tech gadgets and latest technology. So I was expecting to meet up with robotic ticketing officer or robotic cats walking around entertaining tourists. But I was wrong. The ambiance in that building is so lovey dovey with music box melody on air. It feels like Valentines and it makes you wanna sit down and sleep in your beloved's arms. Weird isn't it?

They have a sweet almost like couple seat in every corner of that building.

So sweet!

and this is seat for the singles???

and it has a sweet photo booth. Look at the date - 201234!

you can get your paper stamped for free, just for a keepsake.

It wasn't a clear sunny spring afternoon, but we still took a few level up and out to Umeda's Floating Garden.

It was windy and rainy :( But for 700 yen that we paid, yes. Ye did it.

and here is the view of Cold Spring Osaka city from Floating Garden;

Well, with the fog like this, we should came up here during night time. At least neon and lights able to burst through foggy air :(

Here's night view of and from Umeda Sky Building, Not mine, I stole these pictures, anyways :((((

Very cold and hungry, we went down at the base of Umeda Sky Building and searched for food.

We accidentally end up at "Takimi Lane of Restaurants" - located at the 1st basement of Umeda Sky Building. "Takimi Lane of Restaurants" on the first basement of Umeda Sky Building reproduces a street in Naniwa in the early Showa era when Osaka was at its brightest and most vigorous. There are a number of nostalgic items dating from those days - a pump-style well, Inari Shrine, a stone-paved alley, a short split curtain, and lattice doors.

We were looking for something 'authentic' in Japan since we got here. But it is impossible unless you take a train and heading out of the city, maybe to Kyoto or Nara. But "Takimi Lane of Restaurants" brings the authentic into the city. Well, this is not bad for our 2nd day experience in Osaka.

I love finding places by "accident". This is what I love about getting lost in stranger's land. Because we might find something more interesting than what we read about "A Must Visit Attraction".

Trippin in a trip - instead of finding it, it came stumbled upon you to embrace it.

...and they even have Hachiko!!

Look at the decoration of the restaurant that we had our lunch.

Yes, robots and raksaksa!

and we had our quick Japanese language lesson in that restaurant.

With that, I have to quickly end this post. This is too long and I will continue in Part 3 - With Osaka Castle, etc etc :D

xoxo.

Bandung 2012: You're always a celebrity. End

Ah, I've noticed that all the ugly photos and link shared by government followers and opponent regarding Bersih 3.0 rally on Facebook wall is subsiding. Thank to Youtube's video of a crazy woman beating her baby (recorded last year). Now everybody in Malaysia (both BN and PKR's people) keep posting and sharing it in unison, expressing their shock and anger towards the mother and the one who recorded the video. But then I will not be surprised if PKR and its allies will come up with new accusation that, the mother & the baby is paid by the government, purposely to act and record that scene to divert angry Malaysian attention from keep talking about 13th General Election. Hhhmm. Politic = anything is possible. Malaysia is burning hot lately, too sunny and too bright. It must be government's fault too. I don't know how, but every unfavorable circumstances that happen in Malaysia, will be government's fault. Im having constipation now. and you know who's fault.

Where were we? Ah, shopping spree. It seems like everybody, male & female, agreed that Bandung is a shopping heaven, even for those who bring only RM100 as their pocket money. Yes you can.

These 4 are among other things I bought at Factory Outlet along Jalan Riau. It cost me RM 35 - RM 60 each.

But, in Rumah Mode, you need to allocate more. It is very rare for you to get a good piece of shirt or dress which is below RM 80 - RM 100 price tag. But the quality is undeniable. It is not totally like F.O.S or "Reject Shop" quality that people always claimed. It is just the same quality you saw in the boutique. It just - out of season or quantity is over produced.

I bought this MNG trench coat, (and wore it during my visit to Kobe, Japan) which I just saw in Mid Valley last December and it was priced at RM 259 after 50% discount. But at Rumah Mode, I got it for RM120. So, it's a steal buy. I bought few polo T-shirts for my boyfriend at Rumah Mode too. Yes, Burberry and Ralph Lauren is the brand that you can find in Rumah Mode, priced at RM80 - RM150. Oh wait, now I remember, they have plenty of Guess, CK and DKNY T-shirts with Swarovski, priced at RM 35 - RM 50. So, yea, you can have cheap stuff in Rumah Mode too. But, too bad. I don't really wear T-shirt, not at my age :(

Ultimate madness await you at Pasar Baru. This is where all the aunties favorite place. Feeling Datin Rosmah pun oke,

I don't remember what did I bought here until he willing to take pictures with me. haha.

If you a fan of pink, or any specific color, and want to color coordinate your clothes as well as Telekung to the praying mat, yes, they have it here :)

Ah, look at that. I can't help but but get one.. or two for myself :P Tak payah tunggu hantaran lah.

Anyways, don't wait to go to Bandung. Go now. With increasing air fare, and the cheap price in Bandung won't stay cheap as yesteryears, you won't be able to feel like how I feel if you wait to go to Bandung next year. It won't stay cheap forever. Trust meh.

And you will entitled discount of RM 35 if you mentioned this blog :)

More lunch after shopping. This time is Nasi Padang Menu.

And continued get attacked by 'shopping' right after your lunch. Happy or not?

In Bandung, you don't have to worry. 'The shop' will continuously following you. It just a turn of your neck away. Si beh tahan. It brings me nightmares at night. It stop me from going to shopping malls for a month after I came back from Bandung. How about that?

and then we proceed to Toko Tiga where all the mother of Jeans are sold. Levis, Edwin, etc etc. Well, Im not a fan. Instead of looking at the jeans, I got this!

Cute :)

Shopping haul - Day 2 =.="

and it seems like never end...

it's shitty cheap I tell you.

until the sun drop.. boleh gila engkau dibuatnya!

and last stop for the day, my boss requested our coach driver to make a stop at this Brownies shop;

It's called Amanda Brownies and cheese cake. According to our tour guide, they got the name 'Amanda' from "Anak dan mertua Aman Damai' Something like that. The shop was founded by a mother and her daughter in law and the business is booming until now. Their brownies cake is so famous and fresh, and can't be found in Malaysia.

It cost like RM18 for the small one and as high as RM45, depending on size and flavor. I was thinking to get a cheese cake, small one, but at the same time I wanted to try the brownies. And then my boss said to all of us, to take whichever we would like to try.. I was like.. 'uh, right.. Im penniless now!"

in the end, it was brownies and cheese cake give away. My boss bought it for all of us!!! Thank you boss~!!! So happy :)))

Dinner after brownies. I started to like the food on day 2. I love that stir fry long beans and their deep fried fish with flour. Yums!

We are happy, free brownies, shopping spree, stomach full and now our boss bring us to sing ourselves until we fell asleep :)

oh, the hotel that we stayed in, Sukajadi hotel  - is a mansion built during British colonial period. They didn't change much and still preserve the original architecture of the building and so its precious leftovers.

So, the hotel acting as a mini museum too.

and I don't know Hermes has this before Birkin.

unlike other old mansion, this mansion didn't give me any creepy eerie feelings.

Next Morning... Breakfast..

A group photo with our beloved lady boss.

and for the last time, our boss spoiled us by providing VIP waiting room at the airport. It comes with coffee and tea, and fancy tidbits :)

Till then...

Tata Bandung :)
